Head of Finance (Thailand)

We are building a finance team of leaders and athletes to tackle the challenges of efficiently scaling our dynamic, global business. Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Head of Finance include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee all financial and operational controls and metrics within the Thailand organization, maintaining executive responsibility for the full spectrum of financial and accounting operations.
  • Manage the month-end closing process and ensure accurate and timely closing in accordance with Thailand GAAP and aligning to IFRS for group reporting purposes
  • Ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and accounted for in timely manner with all reconciling items properly explained, follow-up and closed within reasonable timeline
  • Maintain full ownership over management reporting, providing financial analysis and reporting to local and regional management
  • Strength the financial control environment and drive process efficiencies and improvements across the teams
  • Works collaboratively with all departments to proactively review, establish and recommend efficiency improvements to finance related processes and financial management systems, such as billing, procurement, payroll, AP, AR, closing, reporting, etc.
  • Review, establish, implement and maintain formal financial and operational policies and procedures, promoting financial best practices/efficiency in planning & control to achieve operational excellence within the company
  • Establish and maintain stable cash flow management policies and procedures and ensure cash resources are available for daily operations and business needs
  • Oversee and review weekly cash flow forecast for submission to regional finance team, providing explanations on basis of and deviation from forecast
  • Control overall spending. Work closely with other departments to provide guidance on excessive or unreasonable spending
  • Manage customers’ credit process, monitor accounts receivable collection activities and ensure follow-up and recovery of overdue receivables
  • Responsible for all related statutory compliance, such as audit, filing of annual return, tax, etc.
  • Responsible for the Annual Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Reports financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances; developing improvements.
  • Collaborate and engage in operations meeting, providing financial support and professional advice to the management and the operations team
  • Lead, develop and motivate the finance team, and provide mentorship and guidance in their daily function as well as career development
  • Manage relationships with professional service vendors such as Banks and Auditors, ensuring effective business partnering
  • Audit and compliance support for all local financial audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or similar field
  • At least 7 to 10 years hands-on experience in Accounting, Finance or FP&A at either a high-growth tech startup, Big 4 accounting firms or a large, well-established logistics/transportation company
  • "Hands-on" and strong appetite to work in a fast-growth environment and is self-motivated
  • Excellent analytical skills to process voluminous data, interpret trends, establish high-quality insights and business implications with a keen attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of accounting or enterprise-level financial planning systems, such as NetSuite, SAP, Hyperion, Oracle
  • Strong knowledge of Thai Financial Reporting Standards, Thai GAAP and IFRS
  • Excellent communication and people skills with good command of spoken and written English
  • Professional qualification such as CA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus
